I did a presentation on this two months ago at the 9-5. I didn't know how they would role this out and integrate it into the SERPs but I spotted the Twitter/blog/news feed rolling around at the top of the listings for "buy gold" this afternoon when checking Ernest Jones's rankings.
It pops up now and again as Google are doing some testing. I like the idea of real time information for a Query Deserves Freshness phrases but Amazon? This could spell huge online reputation management issue no?
Well if Google are really looking to dominate Twitter's real time search challenge I can't understand why they would give a competitor such exposure in their listings. I know I'll be advising clients to engage in Twitter as a necessity rather than a luxury from now on.
I hate to say this but I prefer Bing's integration as well. Question is how do we optimise and control real time search?
